Using Lagos Ferries On LASWA Facilities, Edun, Umahi Inspect Repairs On Third Mainland Bridge
The Minister of Works, David Umahi; and Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, on Wednesday, used the facilities and ferries of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) to inspect ongoing repairs on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
The two ministers were accompanied by the General Manager of LASWA, Oluwadamilola Emmanuel and the trio were conveyed on the Lagos Inland waterways on a collaborative inspection tour of the Carter Bridge, Iddo-Marina Shoreline and the Third Mainland Bridge.
This is not the first time that cabinet members and top Federal Government officials would utilise the Lagos State Government’s resources on the waterways.
Umahi had also used LASWA facilities and equipment last October to tour the 11.8-kilometer Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
In March 2021, the Super Eagles of Nigeria touched down in Porto Novo, Benin Republic after a boat cruise from Five Cowries Terminal in Lagos. The terminal is the headquarters of LASWA and the finest and most equipped in the whole of Nigeria.
The usage of LASWA facilities by ministers and celebrities again buttressed the point that LASWA has been doing a good job in the management of the waterways and should be allowed to continue the good works.
