To boost productivity and achieve goals effortlessly, Google introduces new AI tools
Google is transforming productivity with its latest suite of AI tools, designed to help users streamline tasks, boost efficiency, and achieve their goals effortlessly. In this article, JUSTICE OKAMGBA delves into the exciting features and capabilities of these innovative tools
Recently, Google unveiled a series of groundbreaking AI tools that promise to enhance the online experience and productivity for all users.
These AI tools were created to make the lives of Internet users easier. We will explore the features and benefits of each tool and provide tips on how to maximise their potential.
In a previous article, we highlighted five AI tools: Gemini 1.5 Pro and Gemini 1.5 Flash: for enhanced performance. Generative AI in Search: For smarter search results. Gemini for Workspace: To boost productivity in the workplace. Ask Photos: To provide detailed photo insights. Gemini for Android: To improve the mobile user experience.
This article focuses on five additional tools from the latest release, demonstrating how they can simplify tasks, increase efficiency, and unlock new levels of creativity.
They are Imagen 3, Veo, music AI tools, SynthID for text and video, and AI Test Kitchen.
Imagen 3
Google’s latest text-to-image model is now available to select creators in a private preview. It generates high-quality images with incredible detail, high-quality lighting, fewer distracting artefacts, and significant improvements in its ability to render text.
It will be available in three model variants: one optimised for speed, one balancing speed and quality, and one prioritising the highest quality images with the best text alignment.
“Upgrades to image generation in Workspace and the Gemini app and web experience are coming soon. Imagen 3 will be available where Vertex AI and ImageFX are available, via waitlist,” the search giant stated in a blog post.
Veo
Veo is Google’s most capable video generation model, capable of creating high-quality 1080p videos up to a minute or more.
Veo closely follows user prompts and offers unprecedented creative control, accurately following directions like quick zooming or slow-motion crane shots. It captures the nuance and emotional tone of prompts in various visual styles, from photorealism to animation, and maintains consistency across complex details.
Veo builds upon years of generative video model work and combines architecture, scaling laws, and novel techniques to improve latency and output resolution.
Google said, “Veo is available to select creators in private preview in VideoFX by joining the waitlist. In the future, Veo’s capabilities will be included in YouTube shorts and other products.”
Music AI tools
Google said it is collaborating with musicians, songwriters, and producers, in partnership with YouTube, to better understand the role of AI in music creation.
They are developing a suite of music AI tools that can create instrumental sections, transfer styles between tracks, and more.
These collaborations inform the development of generative music technologies like Lyria, Google’s most advanced family of models for AI music generation.
New experimental music created with these tools by Grammy winner Wyclef Jean, electronic musician Marc Rebillet, songwriter Justin Tranter, and others was released on their respective YouTube channels at I/O.
SynthID for text and video
Google is extending SynthID to text and video, allowing for watermarking of AI-generated content. SynthID can now embed a digital watermark directly into the pixels of an image or video, making it imperceptible to the human eye but detectable for identification. This technology will be integrated into Gemini and Search’s creative queries.
This expansion means that AI-generated content can be securely marked to ensure authenticity and traceability. Users can create and share content with confidence, knowing it carries a unique identifier that can verify its origin.
This capability is particularly useful for combating misinformation and ensuring the integrity of digital media. By integrating SynthID into platforms like Gemini and Search, Google is enhancing the reliability and transparency of AI-driven creative outputs.
AI Test Kitchen
AI Test Kitchen is a platform developed by Google that allows users to explore, experience, and provide feedback on the company’s latest AI technologies. It acts as a testing ground for innovative AI tools, enabling users to interact with these technologies before they are fully released.
AI Test Kitchen has significantly expanded its reach and is now available in over 100 countries and territories. This includes several countries in sub-Saharan Africa, such as Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa, among others. This expansion allows a diverse global audience to engage with Google’s AI technologies.
The platform supports 37 languages, ensuring accessibility for a wide range of users. Some of the supported languages include Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. This multilingual support enables users from different linguistic backgrounds to use the platform comfortably and effectively.
Within the AI Test Kitchen, users can interact with and provide feedback on new AI technologies such as ImageFX and MusicFX. ImageFX allows users to manipulate and enhance images using AI. It might include features like automatic photo enhancement, style transfer, and other advanced image processing capabilities.
MusicFX enables users to compose, edit, and enhance music using AI. It could offer functionalities like automated music generation, sound editing, and personalized music recommendations.
To use AI Test Kitchen, users in supported countries can access the platform via a web interface or mobile app. They can then select from the available AI technologies, such as ImageFX or MusicFX, and interact with these tools to perform tasks like image enhancement or music editing.
Users are encouraged to provide feedback on the tools’ performance, usability, and any issues encountered.
This iterative process helps Google gather valuable insights from a broad user base, facilitating the continuous improvement of its AI technologies.
