Wizkid hints on new album ahead of release date.
The unreleased album is titled ‘Morayo’, his mother’s middle name.
Nigerian music superstar, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has teased a new single titled ‘Piece of My Heart’.
The Grammy-winning singer, shared a video on Tuesday while announcing the new song.
“Wizkid x Brent Faiyaz ! Piece of my heart! Morayo ! ❤️days away!!” Wizkid wrote.
The track features Brent Faiyaz, the US singer, and is part of ‘Morayo’, Wizkid’s upcoming album, which he has been teasing for months.
Piece of My Heart’ follows the second installment of Wizkid’s extended play (EP) ‘Soundman‘, which featured collaborations with colleagues like Zlatan Ibile and Wande Coal.
The unreleased album is titled ‘Morayo’, his mother’s middle name.
In March, Wizkid revealed that ‘Morayo’ is not an Afrobeats project.
“Album name ‘Morayo’ best I ever made. I am not an Afrobeats artistes. Don’t call me that,” he wrote.
“If you like Afrobeats please don’t download my album, I’m not Afro anything.”
However, Wizkid has yet to announce the release date for the album.
Born on July 14, 1957, Jane Morayo is survived by her husband,, Muniru Olatunji Balogun, and four children.
Her children are Yetunde Balogun, Omolara Osunkoya, Olubusayo Balogun, and Ayodeji ‘Wizkid’ Balogun.
Born in Surulere on July 16, 1990, Wizkid grew up in a polygamous home with a Muslim father and a Christian mother.
Wizkid, gained prominence in 2011 when he released his debut album ‘Superstar’.
‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker has also received numerous recognitions, including a Grammy Award in 2021 for his collaboration with Beyoncé on the hit song ‘Brown Skin Girl’.
He has released four additional albums including, ‘Ayo’, ‘Sound From The Other Side’ in 2017, ‘Made In Lagos’ in 2020, and ‘More Love, Less Ego’ in 2022.
