Netflix, October promises a lineup of captivating films and series. Alongside indigenous titles such as Tòkunbọ̀, Something Like Gold, and the thriller House of Ga’a, viewers can look forward to new releases including Inside Life and Hijack ‘93.
Set to premiere on October 25, Hijack ‘93 delves into a gripping story inspired by true events. It follows four men who hijack an airplane, taking passengers hostage in their quest for social change against a military-backed government. The film revisits the tumultuous atmosphere surrounding the 1993 hijacking led by Richard Ogunderu, Kabir Adenuga, Benneth Oluwadaisi, and Kenny Rasaq-Lawal, sparked by the controversial annulment of election results.
Netflix’s lineup promises familiar faces such as Bob Manuel, John Dumelo, Sharon Ooja, Nancy Isime, and Jemima Osunde, alongside new talents like Adam Garba and Nnamdi Agbo, who portray the hijackers.
