Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, Chidimma Adetshina, has arrived in Mexico for the global competition.
Born in South Africa to a Nigerian father and Mozambican mother, Chidimma will represent Nigeria at this year’s Miss Universe pageant.
In an Instagram video, the model posed at a Mexican airport, wearing a white suit and green organza, proudly holding the Nigerian flag.
The Miss Universe Nigeria organizers also shared a heartfelt message which reads: “We send our brightest wishes and unwavering support! May Nigeria’s vibrant spirit shine through you. Represent us with pride, strength, and grace. Bring home the crown!”
Miss Universe 2024 will be held in the Arena CDMX in Mexico on November 16. Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua will crown her successor at the end of the event

Chidimma was born in 2001 in Soweto at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.
She sparked controversy during this year’s Miss South Africa pageant due to her nationality, which led to a surge of criticism on social media, particularly from South Africans.
Her withdrawal came after the the department of home affairs (DHA) alleged that preliminary evidence suggested her mother may have committed fraud and identity theft.
Addressing the allegations, Chidimma said: “I didn’t steal anyone’s identity”.
She accepted the invitation to participate in this year’s Miss Universe Nigeria pageant. She was later crowned winner of the pageant.
The model also dismissed insinuations that she won the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant “out of pity”.
Chidimma argued that she went through the same rigorous experience as all contestants, adding that “I worked hard to earn my title”.
Authorities in South Africa recently announced plans to revoke the identity and travel documents of Chidimma.
