…court orders release of $1.2 million to Senator Ned Nwoko.
A recent high-profile ruling has shown the British justice system’s effectiveness, as the City of London Magistrates’ Court ordered the release of $1,199,965 to Nigerian Senator Prince Ned Nwoko, that was frozen in an account belonging to Mr. Keith Davies.
The money, originally transferred by Ned Nwoko to a middleman named Abubakar, was subsequently transferred to Davies, who held himself out as a broker. However, the funds were frozen by authorities pending the resolution of the ownership dispute.
Following the court proceedings, the judge ruled that the funds should be returned to Ned Nwoko, acknowledging him as the rightful owner. HSBC has been ordered to release the money to Nwoko’s legal representatives within seven days.
