Adebayo’s ‘Jagun Jagun’ Reigns At BON Awards 2024 Having Won Six Categories
Actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo emerged as the biggest winner at the 16th edition of the Best of Nollywood Awards, held on Sunday at the Sugar Factory Film Studios in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Adebayo’s epic Yoruba film Jagun Jagun clinched six awards, including Best Actor, Best Costume, Best Indigenous Film, Best Production Design, Best Special Effects, and Director of the Year, which was shared by Bayo Tijani and Tope Adebayo.
The film, a Netflix original released in August 2023, had been nominated in 12 categories. It tells the gripping story of a respected warlord whose dominance is challenged by the arrival of a young man, exposing his vulnerabilities and fear of losing authority.
Another notable winner was the film Momiwa, which bagged awards for Best Editing and Best Screenplay.
The event, hosted by actress Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi, celebrated Nollywood’s finest talents and achievements across diverse categories.
