Usyk retains Heavyweight Titles
Usyk continues winning streak, defeating Fury again to retain heavyweight titles.
Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury once again in a closely contested rematch, successfully defending his unified heavyweight world titles and solidifying his place as one of boxing’s all-time greats.
Having handed Fury his first-ever career defeat in May by split decision, the Ukrainian champion repeated his triumph at Riyadh’s Kingdom Arena. Usyk, 37, retained his WBA (Super), WBC, and WBO titles after a tactical masterclass, with all three judges scoring the bout 116-112 in his favor.
Fury, 36, had his moments, particularly in the early rounds, where he landed some powerful shots that caught the eye. However, Usyk’s superior punch volume, cleaner technique, and defensive intelligence ultimately tipped the scales in his favor. Despite Fury’s best efforts, Usyk’s poise and will to win prevailed once again.
The victory extends Usyk’s unbeaten record to 23-0, further cementing his reputation as one of boxing’s elite talents. The former undisputed cruiserweight champion and Olympic gold medalist remains a dominant force in the heavyweight division.
Fury, whose career includes 34 wins, one draw, and now two losses — both to Usyk — left the ring without speaking to the media. In a visibly frustrated mood, he later insisted backstage that he believed he had won the fight by “at least three rounds.”
In the aftermath of the bout, IBF world champion Daniel Dubois entered the ring and called for a rematch with Usyk, signaling the potential for further heavyweight drama.
