Nigerian Afrobeats artiste Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has set a new record in the global music industry, surpassing Burna Boy as the artiste with the most songs on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.
Asake‘s latest album, Lungu Boy, made a spectacular debut on the chart this week, with nine of its tracks securing spots on the prestigious list.
This feat has extended Asake’s total entries to 50, solidifying his mastery in the Afrobeats genre.
One of the unique tracks from the album, “Active,” featuring American rapper Travis Scott, is currently reigning at the top of the chart, further revealing Asake’s growing influence in the international music industry.
The Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, launched in April 2022, has quickly become a benchmark for measuring the global impact of Afrobeats music.
Since its inception, the chart has been predominantly dominated by Nigerian artistes.
