Biola Adebayo gifts Dupe Jayesimi a car on mother’s day
Nollywood actress Biola Adebayo brought joy to the heart of veteran actress Dupe Jayesimi by gifting her a brand-new car to celebrate Mother’s Day.
This heartfelt gesture came after Jayesimi openly shared her emotional struggles with childlessness, a pain that once led her down the path of alcoholism.
During an appearance on Biola Bayo’s podcast, Jayesimi recounted the sorrow and challenges she faced, revealing that her inability to have children contributed to the collapse of her marriage. Despite undergoing IVF twice, she was unable to conceive.
“I did marry when I was pregnant, but after the wedding, I had a miscarriage,” she stated.
Reflecting on another pregnancy, she shared, “They did a test, and I was so happy to be expecting a child. I was 40 then but the scan didn’t detect that the pregnancy was at the back of the womb.”
The veteran actress also opened up about the emotional turmoil she endured in her marriage, stating that her ex-husband would distance himself from her.
“Whenever we went to bed, my ex-husband would demarcate the bed with pillows so that our bodies wouldn’t touch. Two weeks after I moved out of the marriage, a pregnant woman moved into the house. I wept,” she stated tearfully.
Jayesimi further revealed the heartbreak of raising other people’s children, only to be reminded of her childlessness.
“I raised my younger sister’s child, but on the child’s wedding day, my sister told me, ‘You cannot sit there; even if you spent millions, the child is still mine.’ That broke me,” she said.
She admitted to dancing excessively at events, not out of joy, but to mask her pain. “Whenever I go to events, I dance a lot, not because I am impressed by the party, but because I was using it to hide my pain.”
On Sunday, March 30th, Biola Adebayo and her team arrived at Jayesimi’s residence to deliver the surprise gift.
A touching video shared on social media captured the moment Biola offered prayers before handing over the car keys. Overwhelmed with emotion, Jayesimi broke down in tears, expressing deep gratitude for the thoughtful gesture.
Sharing the video on Instagram on Sunday, Biola Adebayo wrote, “Happy Mother’s Day, Mummy @dupe_jayesimi. To everyone who made this dream a reality in just a few days, I say a very big THANK YOU. To all the Talk-To-B supporters, I truly appreciate your support. I’m so happy we could put a big smile on her face.”
