Seyi Awolowo shows interest in more challenging roles in filmmaking
Actor and reality TV star, Seyi Awolowo has expressed his profound gratitude to filmmakers for having faith in his acting abilities to bring diverse characters to life on the big screen.
However, he has expressed a need for more challenging roles, particularly those that netizens least expect him to excel in.
Seyi emphasized that casting directors consider factors like his voice and appearance when selecting roles for him.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, the two-time Big Brother Naija contestant discussed his career aspirations, expressing a strong desire to venture beyond his comfort zone and embrace more demanding roles that go beyond the typical “good guy” characters in movies.
Seyi has expressed interest in portraying roles that defy expectations, including characters like a father, a bus driver, or other unexpected personas.
He said: “I really appreciate all the producers who have called me for jobs and are allowing me to put my acting skills to good use. I would like to believe that my voice and physique have influenced many of the roles I get.
“But, that is a double-edged sword, because it might make me to be stereotyped. Moving forward though, I would love to play more challenging roles. It won’t be bad to play the role of a bus conductor or father; roles that people won’t see coming.”
