Some people unwilling to pay price of fame-Yomi black
An actor and filmmaker, Yomi Black, has said some people cut corners instead of paying the price to become famous.
He told Saturday Beats, “Fame comes at a very high price. A lot of people are not willing to pay the price to become famous. It also comes with a bit of luck. Timing is very important too. Many people become famous by getting the right things done at the right time. Sometimes, some people still do the right things but they come out at the wrong time.”
Speaking on if he can cut corners to achieve his goals as an actor, he said, “If one cuts corners to reach one’s goals, it is only temporary. Cutting corners will not help anyone attain long-term success. It is best to take one’s time and build one’s career. Also, one should be dynamic.”
Speaking on his latest projects, he said, “I made a movie titled, ‘The Awesome Woman’. It will start showing in cinemas in August. It features Sharon Ooja, Timini Egbuson, Bimbo Akintola, Chinonso Arubayi and quite a number of other talented actors. It is something we are proud of, and we can’t wait to show it to the rest of the world.”
Affirming that though education is still a key to success, people should not focus on just formal education. He said, “The problem is that some people think formal education is the (only) key to success. However, informal education is also a key to success, because there are some people with informal education that are successful. These days, things have changed and information is now at the tip of everyone’s fingers. Some of the things that we crammed in school, we don’t need to do that now because there are apps that give one on-demand information. Things are evolving really fast.”
