Agbolayah Praises Warri Refinery Restart, Lauds Tinubu and Gov. Oborevwori
Special Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State on Community Development, Amb. Dr. Toyin Orighomisan Agbolayah JP, Tuesday, expressed heartfelt happiness over re-opening of the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, in Warri, Delta State.
He commended President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited for the successful restart of the 125,000 barrels per day (bpd) Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company, just a month after operations began at the 60,000-barrel-per-day-old Port Harcourt Refinery.
Dr. Toyin Agbolayah, while highlighting importance of the refinery to community development particularly the host communities within their area of operations, described the restoration as a remarkable achievement in 2024 that has bolstered Nigerians’ confidence.
The Special Adviser stressed that the streaming of the Warri Refinery is a significant breakthrough to the nation’s petroleum industry, which according to him will, “arrest youth restiveness, unemployment as indigenes and indeed Nigerians will be gainfully employed.”
He, however, noted that insecurities in the host communities will be a thing of the past, where community contractors will be happy, as well as reduce hardship in the area and the country at large.
Agbolayah reaffirmed the determination of the Federal government and the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s led Delta State Government to increasing local refining capacity, and establish Delta and Nigeria in general as a hub for downstream industrial activities.
He urged Deltans and indeed Nigerians to continue supporting the federal and state governments in order to achieve sustainable peace, growth and development in Delta State and Nigeria.
