Gov. Oyebanji launches Senator Opeyemi’s projects, lauds developmental efforts
Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has praised the Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, for his passion for the development of the state and boosting the welfare of his constituents.
Oyebanji said at Igede Ekiti and Aramoko Ekiti on Monday while inaugurating two ultra-modern markets with solar-powered lights constructed by Bamidele for the use of people in the communities.
The governor, who hailed the senator for numerous developmental projects he had attracted to the state and that Bamidele had personally executed for different communities, said, “On behalf of the government and people of the state, we thank the Senate Leader.
“Although these are things that the state and local governments ought to do, Senator Bamidele has chosen to shoulder the responsibilities so that the state resources can be used to meet the people’s needs in other areas. We are grateful. Senator Bamidele is a gift to Ekiti State.
“My appeal to our people is to use the facilities properly, maintain them and ensure they are in top and clean forms at all times. The distinguished senator has built the markets for you to improve your economy, make the best use of the opportunity,” the governor told the market men and women.
Oyebanji thanked the people of the senatorial district for their support for his government as he assured the people of more government presence.
Bamidele had on Friday, in company with the governor, inspected his ongoing projects, including Phase Two Male and Female Hostels, a new modern stadium and an FM radio station for the university.
The Senate Leader, also on Saturday, shortly after he was conferred with Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa) by Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, led Governor Oyebanji and other dignitaries to Iyin Ekiti, his hometown, for the inauguration of Late Mrs Abiyamo Juliana Tinuola Bamidele Memorial Ultra Modern Event Centre that he donated to Bababoni Anglican Church, Iyin Ekiti.
The Onipede of Igede Ekiti, Oba James Adelusi Aladesuru II, who said the markets would boost his people’s economic activities, expressed gratitude to the senator for fulfilling his campaign promises to his constituents.
Also, the Oluyin of Iyin Ekiti, Oba Adeola Ajakaiye, during the thanksgiving service at the Bababoni Memorial Church, assured the Senate leader of the people’s support and prayers.
