NIPR fellowship award: Kugbo Market CEO, Damara, others honoured
The honour was conferred on him in Abuja on Thursday as part of events marking the 60th anniversary of the Institute.
The Managing Director of Mesotho Group Ltd and the CEO of Kugbo International Market, Hon. Jerry Joseph Damara has been honoured by the foremost Public Relations professional body in Africa, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) as a Fellow.
The honour was conferred on him in Abuja on Thursday as part of events marking the 60th anniversary of the Institute.
NIPR’s Fellowship is the highest honour reserved for individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of nation-building.
Hon. Damara is an outstanding philanthropist who has continued to impact the lives of individuals and families through his humanitarian campaigns.
He had recently unveiled a church building in his Kulishin Community of Shongom Local Government Area of Gombe, believed to be the largest in the state.
On the grounds of his several life-impacting projects, he has been recognised with the title of Kauran Kaltungo by the elders and traditional council, under the able leadership of the Mai Kaltungo, HRH Engr. Saleh Mohammed Umar, OON.
As the MD/CEO of Kugbo International Market located in Abuja, the nation’s capital, Hon. Damara drives strategic development and operational management.
His experience as a technocrat, having worked as an officer of the Nigerian Customs Service, as well as his political background provides him with the right leadership skills to navigate through seemingly difficult situations and foster a business-friendly atmosphere.
He has since taken his exit from politics, in order to squarely concentrate on his business and family life.
As a private sector player, his roles exemplify entrepreneurial vision and leadership, aimed at driving economic growth, creating jobs, and bolstering trade relations across Nigeria and Africa.
Those honoured along with him include the President of Global Alliance, Prof. Justin Green; a Nasarawa lawmaker, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu; a former Anambra Senator and billionaire businessman, Senator Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu; former Ministers of Information, Frank Nweke II and Labaran Maku.
