Nkwoachara Ward Development Union Issues Strong Call for Accountability
In a recent move aimed at addressing concerns about misrepresentation and fiscal accountability, the Nkwoachara Ward Development Union has formally reached out to the National Assembly through their legal counsel, Chijioke Udeogu & Co. The focus of their communication includes inquiries into constituency entitlements, allowances, projects, and palliatives allocated through the National Assembly.
The letter specifically addresses the performance of the ward’s two representatives, Senator Austin Akobundu and Hon. Obi Aguocha. Hon. Uluocha Chimex, Chairman of the Nkwoachara Ward Development Union, voiced significant concerns regarding what he described as inadequate representation and a lack of accountability on the part of the duo.
In addition to seeking clarification and action from the National Assembly, Hon. Chimex has called on other wards and constituencies to join in this demand for transparency. He urged Nigerians to first hold their Frederal representatives accountable as a crucial step before addressing broader national issues.
The union has also indicated plans to approach the National Assembly and anti-graft agencies to investigate allegations of mismanagement and embezzlement by previous representatives.
The acknowledgement of the letter, as per the Freedom of Information Act, has been received by the National assembly, signaling the beginning of a broader campaign for accountability and responsible governance.
