As PDP wipes clean in Bauchi LG election, winning all 20 chairmanship seats
The council election which was marred by voter apathy and late arrival of materials in most polling units, produced winners in PDP.
The ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State has won all the 20 chairmanship seats in Saturday’s local government election.
The declaration was made by the chairman of the Bauchí State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC), Alhaji Ahmed Makama, in his office on Saturday after exercise .
According to him, “After a successful conduct of the exercise and diligent collation and compilation of the results, all of the 20 chairmanship candidates of the PDP won the ballots.”
Meanwhile, main opposition party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) had earlier raised alarm that the ruling PDP and BASIEC would allegedly rig the election in favour of the PDP.
The chairmen–elect are to be sworn-in on the following day as announced by the state government in a press release issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado.
