British-Nigerian boxer, Anthony Joshua, has won in just over 12 rounds his match against Jermaine Franklin.
This is Joshua’s first win in over two years.
How Anthony Joshua Won
The former heavyweight boxer returned to winning ways on Saturday night with an unanimous victory over the American.
Anthony Joshua marks his return to action with a unanimous decision victory.
The judges scored 118-111, 117-111, 117-111 in favour of the former two-time world champion.
…Before His Win
Joshua (25-3, 22 KOs) had suffered defeats to Oleksandr Usyk in his two previous fights and had not won since he knocked out Kubrat Pulev in December 2020.
His Saturday’s bout was billed as the start of a “new dawn” for the former heavyweight champion.
This is also Joshua’s first non-world title fight since he defeated Charles Martin in 2016, ending a run of 13 consecutive world title fights.
How Franklin Has Gone Before His Loss To Joshua
Franklin (21-2, 14 KOs) was no pushover as he kept Joshua uncomfortable for much of the bout.
He has never been knocked out and his only previous loss came against Dillian Whyte in a controversial majority decision in November.
Muhammadu Buhari Reacts:

On his part, Joshua in an interview with DAZN said:
“I would have liked a knockout, but it’s important to get the win.”
