England Match: You Put Up A Good Fight, Cleric Hails Falcons
LAGOS – The Shepherd-in-Charge of Celestial Church of Christ, Genesis Global, Israel Ogundipe, on Monday, celebrated Nigeria’s Super Falcons for their impressive outing against 11-time champions England in the round of 16 clash at the ongoing Women’s World Cup jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
This was contained in a statement released on Monday ahead of the church’s Stand Out Conference 2023 which is slated to hold August 13, 2023, at the Oriental Hotel in the Victoria Island area of Lagos State.
Ogundipe said Coach Randy Waldrum’s girls demonstrated tenacity and put up a good fight in the match against the lioness having stretched the game into penalties after 120 solid minutes of intrigues and determination characteristic of achievers.
England scraped into the quarter-finals of the Women’s World Cup when they beat Nigeria 4-2 on penalties in Brisbane on Monday.
Ogundipe said the Falcons fought a good fight with their outstanding performance in the knockout stage on Monday.
He said, “I said earlier that the Falcons have all it takes to stand out at the World Cup. Indeed, their performance against the lioness confirmed this. Taking the match into penalties after 120 minutes of goalless draw sent a strong message to the world that Waldrum’s girls are not one to be brushed aside.
“Our falcons flew the flag of Nigeria beautifully high with their sterling performance against England. They put up a good fight and they are worth every celebration.”
The Stand Out Conference 2023 which is free and open for all to attend will feature reputable conference speakers including Pastor Bola Idowu of Harvesters International Christian Centres; as well as anointed music ministers such as Yinka Alaseyori, Dare Justified, amongst others.
