The prestigious award, which recognises excellence in Nigeria’s tourism, transportation, and hospitality sectors, is slated for presentation on December 4, 2024, during the NTTS awards ceremony in Abuja.
The announcement was contained in a letter dated November 25, 2024, and signed by Chief Abiodun Odusanwo, Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee of NTTS 2024 and National President of the Institute for Tourism Professionals.
The letter, with reference number ITPN/NTTS-A/24/NTAD/03, read,”On behalf of the Steering and Selection Committee of the 7th National Tourism Transportation Summit Awards, it gives me great pleasure to inform you that you have been chosen for the 2024 National Tourism Transportation Summit ‘Outstanding Tourism Advocate Award.’ Congratulations!”

The NTTS Outstanding Tourism Advocate Award is part of a tradition established six years ago to honor individuals and organizations excelling in Nigeria’s tourism and transportation industries.
According to the organisers, the award is the climax of the National Tourism Transportation Summit and Expo, which provides a platform for stakeholders to network, unwind, and celebrate after two days of intense deliberations and exhibitions.
Olapade, a multiple-award-winning journalist and seasoned advocate for responsible tourism, has earned widespread acclaim for his work through his specialized Travelpulse and MICE column.
Olapade’s contributions to the tourism and travel industry have also earned him international recognition, including a Doctor of Philosophy in Travel and Tour Management from StayUp Aviation in 2018.
This latest honor adds to an already illustrious career, affirming his position as one of the most respected figures in Nigeria’s tourism and travel sector.
