Ositade, Nigerian teenager wins 14 scholarships, Canada, Qatar, Harvard, others worth $3.5m

Oluwafemi Ositade, a 17-year-old Nigerian student has secured 14 scholarships worth $3.5 million to Ivy League universities around the world.

He received offers from top universities in the United States, Canada and Qatar, including Harvard worth $375,572 and Duke University worth $373,796, following his perfect SAT score of 800 in Maths and an impressive 760 in English.

Ositade completed his secondary education at The Ambassadors College, Ota, Ogun state with a perfect CGPA of 4.0/4.0, and achieved a score of 358 at the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) exams, which ranked him the second best in Nigeria for the year 2023.

Kamsiyochukwu Umeh took the top spot that year with a score of 360/400.

Ositade also passed his West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) with distinctions, earning eight As and a B.

Ositade’s academic accomplishments made him a great candidate for the universities he applied to, receiving offers from 14 of them including Harvard University ($375,572), Brown University ($383,364), Duke University ($373,796), University of Toronto Lester B Pearson Scholarship ($365,980), Wesleyan University ($390,050), Carnegie Mellon University, Qatar ($354,344), and the University of Miami ($351,812),

Scholarship offers also came from Howard University ($236,912), Stetson University ($140,000), Fisk University ($145,152), University of Toronto Mississauga Campus ($12,000), University of Toronto St. George Campus ($50,000), University of Toronto Scarborough Campus ($125,000), and Drexel University ($207,600).
