Nollywood Makes History with Groundbreaking Film Production ‘Plan C,’ Shot on Sony Venice 2 Camera in Africa
In a momentous stride forward, a collaboration of production studios has achieved a significant milestone with the completion of principal photography for the comedy film ‘Plan C,’ using the groundbreaking Sony Venice 2 camera. This historic achievement marks the first-ever usage of the Sony Venice 2 camera in Africa, renowned for its exceptional contribution to major Hollywood blockbusters such as ‘Avatar,’ ‘Black Panther,’ and ‘Maverick.’
Directed by the talented Samuel ‘Bigsam’ Olatunji, ‘Plan C’ boasts an impressive cast of Nollywood stars, including Nkem Owoh, Akin Lewis, Yvonne Jegede, Bimbo Akintola, Faithia Balogun, Uzor Arukwe, Frank Donga, and many others. This ensemble of esteemed actors adds their brilliance to the film’s captivating narrative.
‘Plan C’ presents an uproarious comedy that enthralls audiences from the very first scene until the final frame. The story revolves around an engaged couple, Tishe and Nnamdi, a mischievous sister, eccentric parents from both sides, and a group of zany friends who create non-stop entertainment throughout the film.
Tishe’s father is the owner of one of Nigeria’s largest real estate firms, while Nnamdi’s father is a prominent land speculator. The potential merger of their businesses could result in a major conglomerate. To secure the future of their companies and cement their long-standing friendship, both men resolve to coerce their eligible children into an arranged union. However, the couple harbors alternative plans. Nnamdi dreams of becoming a film producer and wants no part in his father’s business or the planned wedding. Fearing the loss of his inheritance if he opposes the wedding, Nnamdi devises a scheme to be kidnapped on the day of the wedding. His intention is to be ransomed and use the money to start a new life far away.
Unbeknownst to Nnamdi, Tishe has a similar plan in protest against the forced union. She plans to stage her own kidnapping, implicating Nnamdi, his dubious friends, and his career choices. In her mind, this scheme will prove that Nnamdi is not suitable husband material and will set her on a course to take over her father’s company. Each party enlists their respective friends to execute their plans, but from the outset, everything goes horribly awry.
Tishe’s friends accidentally kidnap the couple en route to the wedding, causing panic among Nnamdi’s friends as they witness his abduction. With Plan A failing, they resort to Plan B, kidnapping Tishe and her friends. However, to their astonishment, a Plan C emerges when real kidnappers led by the notorious Ossai abduct everyone involved!
