Ayra Starr reached 2 billion streams

Nigerian Ayra Starr has reached a major success, surpassing over 2 billion streams on Spotify across all credits, according to data from Spotify tracking platform, Kworb.

With the achievement, announced on October 10, 2024, comes months after the release of her second studio album, The Year I Turned 21, which alone has drawn over 500 million streams on the platform.

Ayra Starr’s accomplishment places her among a select group of Nigerian musicians, including Burna Boy, Rema, Tems, Wizkid, CKay, and Davido, who have all surpassed 2 billion streams on Spotify.

Ayra Starr received four nominations for the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMAs), making her one of Nigeria’s top music stars.
