Ecosmart initiative is a climate change improvement organisation with a vision to improve the environment through her charitable services.
In February 2020, we had a clean up exercise at the the Jabi lake where we decongested the lake
of pet plastics which had become a menace and eyesore.
Our just completed exercise (Project-plant-a-tree) was held on Saturday, 29th august 2020 at
Mpape.
We landscaped mpape model primary school as it was void of vegetation. We planted flowers,
shade and fruit trees at thr school, and also planted shade and fruit trees at the the Crushed
rock.
We had earlier visited Love fm on Monday 24th August to educate and sensitize people about
the relevance of proper hygiene and vegetation, as the town planning in mpape is concentrated
in the middle causing an intensive pollution rate within its residential and commercial areas
which is closely locked together.
During our second reach out on Wednesday 26th august, we called for the resisdents to
volunteer in the project and appointed 5 adults and 1 child ambassadors to care for and protect
the trees.
We planted a total of 130 plants (trees and flowers alike. Our team of volunteers from the
organisation and community made themselves available against all odds even in the rain and
this goes to show how responsible we can be as Nigerians when motivated to improve our lives.
We thank Love fm (104.5) for allowing us use their platform as a means to reach out to the
community, we thank the OAP ambassador Wahala and his team for influencing their listeners
also and we appreciate everybody who came out for the exercise from our team and the
community. This is a continous project and we call on the general public with interest to be a
part of it either individually or by volunteering with our organization. We are open to partnership
and sponsorship.
Investing in quality air, water, and heslthy environment is an investment in our health and future
and we can do this with our time, effort, energy and contributions. Thank you
