Farmers Club International Distributes its First Batch of Motocycles to registered Members
* Aims at addressing logistical challenges in Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
Farmers Club International (FCI) has announced that it has successfully delivered the first batch of motorcycles to its members in Osun State.
The handover ceremony took place on Monday, April 7, 2025, marking a major milestone in the organization’s efforts to address the transportation challenges faced by farmers.
According to a statement released by Abu Muhammad A.Q., National Publicity Secretary of FCI, the State Chapter Coordinator for Osun State, Mr. Bintinlaye Akeem, officially received the motorcycles on behalf of interested members of the organization.
The initiative comes as part of FCI’s comprehensive strategy to provide practical solutions to the persistent problem of mobility that has long hampered agricultural activities in the region. Many farmers face significant challenges accessing their remote farmlands, which has negatively impacted agricultural output and, by extension, food security in the country.
“In line with our quest as a solution provider to the problem of movement and accessing far distance farmlands, this project has now become a reality,” said the FCI spokesperson. The statement highlighted that the organization’s President personally oversaw the project, working in collaboration with YAMAHA and EXCELLENT PAS to bring the initiative to fruition.
The financing structure for the motorcycles has been designed with farmers’ economic realities in mind. Members were required to make an initial deposit, with the remaining balance payable over 24 months, making the scheme accessible to a broader segment of the farming community.
“We believe this gesture will go a long way in solving some of the problems of our members at this crucial stage across the Nation and promote food security,” the statement added.
The organization also revealed plans for further mechanization of farming operations, announcing that the importation of tractors is expected to be concluded soon. This additional initiative underscores FCI’s commitment to comprehensive agricultural modernization in Nigeria.
The leadership has called upon all members to remain dedicated to the organization’s cause, hinting that more beneficial programs are on the horizon. “We urge all members of this prestigious club to be more dedicated as many doors of success are about to be opened,” the statement concluded.
The motorcycle distribution program represents a significant step in addressing logistical challenges in Nigeria’s agricultural sector and is expected to substantially improve farmers’ ability to manage their lands efficiently, potentially leading to increased productivity and improved food security nationwide.
