FG Gives Out Trucks Of Rice To 36 Governors

In a bid to address the food shortages experienced in the country, the Federal Government has approved the distribution of 20 trucks of Rice to all the state Governors for onward distribution to vulnerable Nigerians.

Briefing State House Correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu in Abuja, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, disclosed that as part of efforts to ameliorate the economic challenges around the country, the Council is also poised to hasten the CNG-ENABLED Buses, in addition to ramping up of the Agricultural sector to ensure enhanced food production.

The Minister also called on the sub-national to ensure effective distribution of the food items so that it gets to the people who need them.

Idris highlighted that further discussions and meetings with Organised Labour will continue in coming days to arrive at an agreeable, reasonable New National Minimum wage Decision.

The Minister also clarified that there are no multiple budgets being implemented, noting that the Minister of Budget and Economic planning, Atiku Bagudu would submit an amendment act for the 2024 Supplementary budget to the National Assembly.
