Firm Proffers Ways to Create Employment for Youths

Worried about the growing population of unemployed youths in Nigeria, the Managing Director and CEO of M. P. Masterpiece, producers

of Kubanah Whisky, Mr. Emeka Ike has proffered ways to create employment opportunities for youths.

Speaking recently with journalists, Ike decried the rate of unemployment in Nigeria especially among the youths, describing it as alarming.

He, therefore, said that the only way to reduce unemployment, create employment opportunities and promote national, social and economic growth and development was to encourage local production across the different industries, this is another reason we are in business.”

According to him, creating jobs will further reduce corruption and crime rate in the country, adding, “There are so many Nigerian graduates today looking for employment but the challenge is that we don’t have enough industries that will offer them jobs”.

Barely one year after M.P. Master Piece Limited launched one of its brands, Kubanah Whisky into the wine and spirit beverage market in Nigeria, the whisky has successfully penetrated major markets and supermarkets in Nigeria and across the border.

The whisky which is produced locally with international standards has very much captured the interest of Nigerian consumers and its demand continues to grow daily.

While stressing that the motivation behind the introduction of Kubanah Whisky was the need for quality and international standard whiskey in the Nigerian spirit market, he noted, “Kubanah Whisky is introduced to fill that need for a locally produced Whisky that is affordable and of international standard.”

Speaking further on standard, Ike said, “We are happy that our brand, Kubanah Whisky is doing well and competing well with imported whisky in the Nigerian wine and spirit market”.

The brand had earlier signed Destiny Etiko, Femi Adebayo, Nosa Rex and Emmanuel Abisi, a.k.a Nastyblaq as brand ambassadors during the unveiling of Kubanah whisky a year ago, personalities whom the MD said reflects the Kubanah Whisky standard.

Ike continued, “We are in the Nigerian market to quench the appetite of an average Nigerian who consumes our brands. Beyond just being a business, we are driven by passion and a burden to make a difference, The government should listen to local producers and give them what they need to succeed, especially in this distillery sector”.

He emphasised the importance of empowering and utilising local resources for national development. He said that across the world, government support plays a vital role in driving industrial and economic growth.
