The birthday of the Bishop on Saturday February 8 was a symphony of cheer, admiration and eulogy as Nigeria’s political heavyweight, spiritual luminaries, and cultural icons converged to honor Archbishop Designate Isaac Idahosa, as he marks 60 years of Impactful life to humanity.
The Sheraton Hotel’s Banquet Hall in Ikeja transformed into a kaleidoscope of Nigeria’s elite, where the boundaries between pulpit and parliament blurred in celebration of a man whose legacy spans faith, governance, and societal uplift.
From the gleaming attire of governors to the spirited anecdotes of retired football legends, the evening radiated not just opulence, but a rare camaraderie forged by Idahosa’s unparalleled ability to bridge divides. Here, in a room where policy met prayer and ambition met altruism, the archbishop’s 60th birthday became less a personal milestone and more a mirror reflecting his nation’s collective aspirations.
Among the distinguished guests were Senator Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP); Governors Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State and Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State; former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke; former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu; Pastor Ituah Ighodalo of Trinity House; and ex-Super Eagles stars Victor Ikpeba and Julius Aghahowa. The event also featured the presentation of special recognition awards by the Bishop Isaac Idahosa Foundation to individuals who have excelled in their respective fields. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State received the Excellence in Infrastructural Development Award for his innovative urban and rural development initiatives. Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso was honored with the Lifetime Political Leadership Excellence Award for his contributions to nation-building. Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State was recognized with the Agricultural Transformation & Rural Development Award for his groundbreaking agricultural programs. Prof. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu was celebrated with the Excellence in Public Service & Policy Reform Award for his transparency in governance, while Donald Duke was awarded the Tourism Development & Economic Innovation Award for transforming Cross River State into a tourism hub.
