NABTEB trains over 550 staff to enhance performance.

Over 550 staff members of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board participated in a five-day training programme, which concluded on Friday in Benin City, Edo State.

The Acting Registrar of NABTEB, Dr Nnasia Asanga, said on Friday that the training would be held quarterly to enhance staff capacity and enable them to perform optimally.

He stated that 11 papers were presented by resource persons during the training, which took place both at NABTEB’s headquarters in Benin and online across the country.

He said, “I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to Almighty God for granting us the vision and wisdom to organise a remarkable and memorable workshop of this magnitude, with over 550 attendees nationwide and a total of 11 paper presentations.

“I extend my gratitude to each and every one of you for your active participation, engagement, and enthusiasm throughout this workshop. The training will be held quarterly to strengthen staff capacity and ensure optimal performance in their duties.

“During this weeklong programme, we have shared perspectives, learned from each other’s experiences, and gained a better understanding of the roles of various departments and their interconnections in achieving the Board’s objectives.

“Remember that knowledge, like any resource, becomes obsolete if not nurtured. Therefore, as we conclude this workshop, I urge everyone to apply the knowledge, skills, and lessons learned to their departments and daily responsibilities. As management, we will continue to enhance your skills through further workshops and training sessions.

“I would like to commend the Administration Department for its tireless efforts in organising this workshop despite numerous distractions and competing programmes. Your dedication and commitment to capacity building and professional development are truly commendable.

“Management also deserves recognition for approving this training programme and workshop,” he added.

The Head of the Administration Department, Henry Johnson, described the training sessions as not only insightful and thought-provoking but also engaging, expressing confidence that participants had an enriching experience.

He added, “Learning, as we all know, is a continuous process, and this training will not be the last. In fact, as I mentioned in my opening speech, this is just one in a series of many to come.

“Some will take the form of departmental training, while others will involve external training consultants or different formats. However, be assured that the Acting Registrar and his management team are committed to your welfare and professional development.”
