NAMA reaches 76.5% in ICPC compliance rating

Nigerian Airspace Management Agency

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency has measured up to 76.5 per cent compliance score in the 2024 Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard conducted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission.

This rating reflects a significant adherence to ethical and integrity standards among federal agencies.

In a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Abdullahi Musa, the ICPC, in a post-deployment letter dated February 6, 2025, read, “Sequel to the deployment, scoring, and ratings of assessed MDAs, your documents were analysed, and your agency had a score of 76.5%, which connotes substantial compliance on the EICS and a non-existent status in the AEI (ACTU Effectiveness Index).”

NAMA’s Managing Director, Umar Ahmed Farouk, welcomed the report and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and compliance with financial regulations.

“We appreciate this recognition from the ICPC as an integrity watchdog. Moreover, at NAMA, we adhere to professional standards and ensure transparency in all our processes.

Safety is sacrosanct, and we uphold a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption.

“This achievement strengthens our resolve to improve our integrity rating and align with global best practices, including the Key Performance Indicators set by the International Civil Aviation Organisation Standards and Recommended Practices,” Farouk stated.

In addition, NAMA’s 76.5 per cent compliance score in the ICPC’s Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard reflects its strong commitment to ethical standards and transparency. This accomplishment demonstrates the agency’s dedication to maintaining integrity in its operations. Moving forward, NAMA aims to strengthen its compliance and accountability measures while continuing to uphold high ethical standards in service to the public.

The ICPC unveiled the Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard in 2019 to encourage transparency, integrity, and accountability in public institutions. This annual evaluation assesses compliance with financial regulations and the efficiency of service delivery.
