Oladunjoye Emerges Opomulero Akoroyin Oodua

Publisher of Tunes News Magazine and Senior Consultant on Media to Ogun State Governor, Tunde Oladunjoye, has been named as Opomulero Akoroyin (Pillar of Journalism), by a thriving Yoruba news medium, Boseri.

In a letter dated May 3, 2024, and jointly signed by Johnson Akinpelu and Segun Ayinde, Publisher and Secretary respectively, Oladunjoye was informed that “After thorough appraisal of your personality and sample of public opinion on your person, we are glad to inform you that we have honoured you as OPOMULERO AKOROYIN.

The letter reads in part: “BOSERI Newspapers is a media outfit published by Johnson Akinpelu, a former Assistant Editor of Alaroye Newspaper, to promote Yoruba culture and traditions at the forefront. It is also a vanguard for Yoruba unity and development across the Southwest States of Nigeria.

“We also create an avenue through the newspaper to honour and appreciate sons and daughters of Oodua, who have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavours via prestigious awards.

“After a thorough appraisal of your personality and sample of public opinion on your person, we are glad and happy to inform you that we have honoured you as OPOMULERO AKOROYIN.”

Oladunjoye, who started writing for newspapers in 1980 with the Lagos News newspaper edited by Muka Popoola and published by the late Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande. Since then, the multiple awards recipient has reported full-time and part-time for leading Nigerian newspapers and magazines. He is a published poet and producer of television documentaries.
