Technopreneurship Will Solve Unemployment Challenges In Nigeria

Experts have said investment in technology training will help in reducing unemployment in the country. IT Support specialist, Archibong Edet, who disclosed this in Lagos, at a career development programme in digital technology, noted that with the knowledge acquired, young people can upskill their competencies across any of the solutions that they use within their organisation.

Edet who is the tech coordinator of Modiva said the programme which is organised by Reliance Infosystem has trained over 1,500 young people in Nigeria, Ghana, Botswana and Kenya.

“At the end of the programme, most of the people trained would tend towards technopreneurship, so that they can help solve the challenge of unemployment in the country,” he said.

He said the programme has helped participants to grow their competencies in technologies and aids career change. He, however, called for government support in providing enabling infrastructure as well as support so that more people can be trained.
