Telecom services restored in Nigeria -NCC

Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC, has announced the restoration of telecom services in the country.

NCC’s Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Reuben Muoka, in a statement on Monday in Abuja, said:

“We are delighted to share that services have been successfully reinstated to around 90 percent of their maximum operational capacities.”

He explained that all affected operators have effectively mitigated the impact of the disruptions by leveraging alternative capacities from submarine cables that remained unaffected by the incidents.

Mr. Muoka said that services were restored following its disruption on March 14.

“This disruption affected data and voice services due to cuts in undersea fibre optics on the Cote d’Ivoire and Senegal coasts,” the statement said.
