Naija Poetry Fest Community celebrates the year’s end with thrilling poetic contest.
The Naija Poetry Fest Community (NPFC), a quintessential poetic platform founded by Godson Osarenren, author of (The Broken Cross, Bush Radio and Nigerian Best Page 2015), celebrated the year’s end with a thrilling poetic contest, “Squid Game Poetic Slam,” on their WhatsApp platform. This Thanksgiving contest was generously sponsored by Emmanuel Osawe.
Twenty-three talented poets participated, with esteemed judges Sylva Nze Ifedigbo (2022 Chinua Achebe Prize for Literature winner), Don Kester Oshioreame (literary critic and Nollywood veteran), and Gellal Ali (entrepreneur and entertainment mogul).
The contest winners were:
1. ThankGod Chinonso Anah (1st position): N100,000
2. Deborah Ekerete Usak (2nd position): N75,000 (also received N100,000 for being the first to submit)
3. Tobi Gabriel Afolabi aka Lee (3rd position): N50,000
Five poets received consolation prizes of N10,000 for their outstanding punchlines and video submissions.
