Fmr. NBA President Olumide Akpata Wins And Represents Labour Party In Edo Governorship Race

Ahead of the Edo state governorship election, former NBA president Akpata has clinched the Labour Party ticket.

Mr Akpata defeated other aspirants in what was described as a landslide victory for the former NBA national helmsman.

With the Victory, the Akpata will now be flying the ticket of the Labour Party on the 21st of September, 2024

Announcing the results, the Abia State deputy Governor and Chief returning officer for the primary, Mr Ikechukwu Emetu, said Barr. Olumide Akpata scored the highest votes of 316 to beat other Contestants, while his second rival Barr. Ken Imasuangbon pulled 7 Votes.

After announcing the results, Jubilant youths and party supporters went into wild jubilation.

In his acceptance Speech, Barr. Olumide Akpata thanked the people for the Confidence reposed in him to serve and promised he would never betray their trust.

All aspirants who purchased the Labour Party ticket were present in the hall during the primary, but some left angrily when they discovered that there was no hope in sight for the Victory of their ambition.
