The Edo Gubernatorial Election cannot be won by relying solely on the traditional political establishment, consider demographics

This is 2024 and demographics do matter. The Edo Gubernatorial Election cannot be won by relying solely on the traditional political establishment.

As things stand today, the PDP must overwhelmingly win Edo South if it is intent on retaining its control of Dennis Osadebay House. The only way to make this happen is for the party to select an experienced, forward looking and accomplished individual who has both the political sagacity, intellect and pedigree to galvanize young, upwardly mobile and independent voters in Edo State, particularly in Edo South which has over 58% of the voters.

The best man for the job of Deputy Governor is Dr. Ese Owie, an Oxford Educated International Trade Lawyer and Former Executive Chairman of the Edo State Internal Revenue Service. Adept at stakeholder management and consensus building, it was Dr. Owie who led the transformation of the Edo State Internal Revenue Service and grew revenues from a paltry 350 million Naira monthly to about 1.8 Billion Naira monthly within 1 year.

A loyal and dependable gentleman with a rich political trajectory that dates back to the days of the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC), he is a foundation member of the PDP and would bring the needed diversity to ticket.

With the age distribution of registered voters in Edo State showing that 50% of the voters are between the age of 18 and 35, it is an absolute necessity that the PDP considers this demographic and nominate a Deputy Governorship Candidate that can connect with voters in this category.
