Phil Foden has won the 2023/24 Premier League Player of the Season award thanks to his glistening performances for Manchester City.
The Cityzens can win an unprecedented fourth English title in a row if they beat West Ham United on Sunday, with England international Foden proving a key performer with 25 goals in all competitions, 17 of which have arrived in the top flight.
It’s another individual award for the 23-year-old, who was named the 2024 FWA Footballer of the Year earlier in May while Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw won the women’s equivalent.
“To win this award is an achievement that I am extremely proud of,” Foden said.
“The Premier League is acknowledged as the greatest league in the world, and it is a pleasure to have been nominated with so many other great players who have all enjoyed special seasons for their clubs.”

Foden saw off competition from Erling Haaland, Alexander Isak, Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, Virgil van Dijk, Ollie Watkins and Cole Palmer, who scooped the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season gong on Friday.
He added: “Overall, I’ve been very happy with the way I have played this season and really pleased that I have been able to contribute with the goals and assists throughout the season.
“I’d like to thank all of the City staff, coaches and especially my teammates because without them this wouldn’t be possible.
“And I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted for me as the award means a lot.”
It is the fifth season in a row a Man City player has won the Premier League Player of the Season award. Kevin De Bruyne was triumphant in both 2019/20 and 2021/22, while Ruben Dias and Erling Haaland were the recipients in 2020/21 and 2022/23 respectively.
