‘You’re coming to Chelsea, I’ll be your agent’ – Obi Mikel tells Osimhen

Ex-Chelsea star John Obi Mikel has told Victor Osimhen he is ready to broker a move to the Blues for the Napoli hitman, who idolised Didier Drogba.

Speaking on his podcast with Osimhen as a guest, Mikel said he would act as the striker’s agent in order to finalise a big-money transfer to Stamford Bridge in the summer. The former Nigeria international also advised his compatriot against moving to the Saudi Pro League at this stage of his career.

While discussing a move to the Premier League, Osimhen revealed that he only owned two jerseys as a child and they were of Chelsea and Manchester United. He further stated that he idolised another Blues legend, Didier Drogba, while growing up.

Speaking on The Obi One Podcast, Mikel told Osimhen: “It’s not the time to go to Saudi. Next season I know you’re going to come to Chelsea. I’m going to be the agent to broker that deal. You’re 100% coming to Chelsea!”

In response, the Serie A golden boot winner simply laughed.

Later in the episode, Osimhen revealed: “I had two jersey’s from my brother when I was a kid – Chelsea and Manchester United. When I was playing grassroots [I was compared to Didier Drogba]. We used to use my brothers phone [to watch Drogba]. I would then go on the pitch and try to [emulate] at his game [and learn]. I still watch Drogba’s comps now.”

The forward is currently recovering from an injury that he picked up during the last international break and has not been named in the Nigeria squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifying game. His future at Napoli is currently uncertain, and a summer transfer to the Premier League is seemingly something that is on his mind.
