Nigerian travel content creator, Alma Asinobi, who was on the brink of history to complete her Guinness World Record (GWR) attempt to travel across all seven continents in 60 hours, ended her trip yesterday, however in 71 hours.
Earlier yesterday, the 26-year-old who has successfully crossed six continents with her final stop in Sydney, Australia revealed she faced a major setback when she was denied access to her final destination Australia, due to visa issues.
The travel content creator said she was restricted from entering Australia after spending over 56 hours on her journey. She said she was not allowed to board her flight to Perth, Australia, and was put on standby for confirmation from Australian authorities.
Asinobi announced her 60-hour journey a few weeks ago. Her attempt, dubbed “AlmaChasing Continents,” aims to highlight the challenges faced by Africans with low-mobility passports while inspiring people to explore the world despite these limitations. She started her trip in Antarctica and has traveled through Africa, Europe, and America.
She eventually concluded her journey as the youngest and only Black solo record attempt in this category, in her bid to challenge and transform the narrative surrounding passport inequality using only her Nigerian passport.
